How can our fine spirits reach new consumers in new ways? And how can we improve our sales pitches to bars, restaurants and business partners?
The Answer:
Create a new 50mL travel-size format of our same
well-known and well-loved fine spirits, for our consumers (and our sales team) to take with them on roads, ships or airplanes!
For our B2C customers
Our 'spark plug' 50ml bottles as we call them, are a simple solve to any travel restrictions! Now all international visitors who pass through our doors for a distillery & brewery tour and tasting, or at our retail shop, can be rest assured that a bottle of the favourite spirit they tasted won't be confiscated at the airport or on their cruise ship when travelling home. The mini-bottles are not only easier to pack, but also make for great bulk gifts for their friends and family!
For our B2B customers & Sales Team
Often times bars, restaurants or other retailers want to taste a new product before they order a couple cases, which is totally fair! Previously, our sales team would bring one 750mL bottle with them and pour 1oz. for them to taste or simply show business owners and managers high-quality photos of our product and leave them with a sales sheet. But they wouldn't be able to leave any product behind, because of course we couldn't afford to be gifting full-size bottles upon bottles of alcohol.
With the introduction of our 50mL sample size bottles, we can easily offer our potential partners a taste during the sales pitch and leave some behind to jog their memory when they revisit the product. And sales have significantly improved because of it!
Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation
The NSLC is our largest and consistent wholesale customer for fine spirits and they are always encouraging suppliers to leverage in-store merchandising or other value-add opportunities. Now with our 50mL bottles, we are well positioned to offer a promotion where a 50mL bottle is attached to a 750mL bottle - a major value-add tactic that consumers love!
